What if you are not home when the rider arrives?

Slots move, plans change, and none of it costs anything. Two things are worth planning for.
A two-hour slot on a chosen day suits most people most of the time, and then a meeting runs late. Nothing about that is expensive.
Moving the slot
You picked the slot when you booked, and it can be changed. The quickest route is the number on your booking or the contact page. It costs nothing — pickup is free and so is rearranging it.
The one thing worth doing is telling us before the rider is on the way rather than after, which is a courtesy to the person riding across the city rather than a policy.
Someone else handing it over
Common enough — a parent's phone, a flatmate at home when you are not. It works, with one thing to think about.
The person at the door is the person the rider checks the device with. If something does not match the answers given online, that is the person who is shown what changed and who has to decide whether to accept it. So whoever is standing there should know the device's condition and be authorised by you to make that call — otherwise the pickup ends with a phone call to you anyway.
The part that cannot be delegated
Signing out of the accounts. Whoever is at the door, the device has to be signed out of your Apple ID, Google, Samsung or Mi account before it leaves, or it cannot be set up by the next owner and cannot be bought. That is yours to do, from wherever you are, before the slot. The list is here.
Take the SIM out too, or ask whoever is home to.
Changing the address
If you have moved, or the device is at a different address from the one you booked, tell us rather than hoping — coverage is by area, and the slot is assigned to a rider working that area.
And if you change your mind
At any point up to agreeing at the door, including while the rider is standing in front of you. It costs nothing. What cancelling looks like.

Questions people ask
- Can I reschedule a device pickup?
- Yes. You pick the two-hour slot when you book, and if it stops working for you the pickup can be moved — get in touch through the contact page or the number on your booking.
- Can someone else hand over the device for me?
- Practically, yes — but whoever is at the door is the person the rider checks the device with and agrees any change with, so they need to know its condition and be able to make that decision.
- Does missing a slot cost anything?
- No. The pickup is free, and so is rearranging it.
